Enter your barcode; this can be found in the patron's record, or e-mail Erica (ebretall@mcds.org) or Tessa (tgaddis@mcds.org) requesting your barcode and we'll send it to you
Click 'Next'
Enter your birthday
Click 'Next'
Enter your user name, password, and e-mail address
It's easiest if you keep your user name the same as for your login to the mcds website
If you forget your user name or password, Tessa or Erica can re-set it for you
Now that you have an account, you can start adding books to your shelves
To add a book, enter its title in the search bar and click 'go!'
You have three shelves in your account: Have Read, Now Reading, and Want to Read
To add a book to one of your shelves you can click on the icon of the book, then drag and drop it to the desired shelf on the right
You can also add a book to one of your shelf by double-clicking on the book
From the title details screen select the shelf you want to add the book to from the drop down menu
Now that you have books on your shelves you might want to recommend some of them to friends
To add friends, click on 'MyQuest' at the top of the screen
Then select 'Friends' from the menu on the left
You can look up friends by typing in their names
When their name shows up, click on the green check to the right to send a friend request
To recommend books that you have read, you can go click 'Shelf: Have Read'
This will display a list of books on your 'Have Read' shelf
Select the 'Recommend' link next to a book
Type in the name of the person you want to recommend the book to
Add a message to say why you think that person would like the book
Click 'Save'
You can also review books you have read
Click on the stars icons to rate the book
Click on the stars to rate the book and type in a review
All reviews need approval before they will appear
Click 'Save'
You can also recommend and rate books from the 'Title Details' screen
To get to this screen just click on the icon of a book from any screen (home page, search results, my shelves etc)
Click on the 'Recommend' icon on the right to recommend a book
To review a book, click on the 'Reviews' tab then click on the 'Add Review' button
You can also see what books you have out and when they're due by clicking on the 'My Info' link at the top of the page
If you want to check out a book and it turns out we don't have it, you can recommend the book to us
Type in the title of the book that you think we should purchase in the search bar
When the search displays no results, it will give you an option to recommend the book for purchase
To suggest that we purchase a copy of the book, click on 'Make a Wish'
Fill in the title and, if you know it, the author and write something about why you think we should buy the book
